NARC. Fest 2010 – 6 Venues, Over 30 bands & DJs, 1 Night!

The region’s favourite small independent festival, NARC. Fest, is back in the Ouseburn Valley to tantalise and titillate music lovers in the North East on Saturday 17th July.
The musical side of the Ouseburn Festival, NARC. Fest has gone from strength to strength and this, the fourth year of the festival, once again sees a fantastically strong line-up across six venues in the region.
Working with some of the best promoters in the North East, the stages at this year’s NARC. Fest 2010 include Our Beat Is Correct, Prancey Dog, Get Involved, PRMNT Vibes, Dispatch and NARC. magazine working with Portions For Foxes. This year the promoters and their line-ups go head to head, with music running simultaneously all night, punters will be spoilt for choice!
Headlining The Cluny at the NARC. and Portions For Foxes run stage are Denmark’s The Kissaway Trail, they promise to captivate audiences with their epic indie rock. Joining them at The Cluny are local artists The Dark Sky Pilgrims, Lanterns On The Lake, The Fishing Party and Cult Image.
Over at The Cluny 2, Our Beat Is Correct have programmed a night of indie pop loveliness featuring The Heartbreaks, Love Bites & Bruises, Let’s Buy Happiness, Coal Train and Kate Agerskow.
The Cumberland Arms plays host to Prancey Dog’s stage featuring the wonderful Withered Hand, The Bobby Mcgees’, O’Messy Life, Warm Digits and John Egdell.
The Tyne Bar once again welcomes the Get Involved boys and their awesome line-up of noisy post-rock featuring Leeds-based These Monsters, Razmataz Lorry Excitement, Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, Mammal Club, Mass and Ryoga.
Relative new comers to the promotions scene PRMNT Vibes will bring The Tanners roof down with their alternative experimental line-up featuring Streets Of Rage and Blue Sabbath Black Fiji, both from Glasgow, London’s Bare Girls and local artists Billy Bloodaxe, plus DJ stints from Totem Recall and PRMNT Vibes.
Dispatch take over the Star & Shadow Cinema for the night, hosting an evening of film and music featuring Scrubber Fox and DJ Stuff (Skam/The Centrifuge) performing a live AV set alongside DJs Berlin Berlin, More Brains And Detroit City, Demons and Dispatch Agency DJs, plus the UK premier of Speaking In Code – an entertaining documentary offering a glimpse into the world of techno. With the music going on into the night, this will be the festival’s official after-show venue, where festival goers can party the night away!
With such diverse line-ups like these, festival goers are encouraged to ‘mix and match’ their night to catch as many fantastic acts as possible! As always, all gigs are free entry, doors open at all venues from 7pm and the music goes on late into the night!
